Welcome to the Fred Wilson Campaign
Thank you for visiting my website. I look forward to sharing this campaign with you. This race is important because this court is important. The 313th District Court, a juvenile bench, changes a child's life.
As Judge, I will make transparency and accountability a priority.
I will be a tough but fair judge. My time as an Assistant District Attorney yielded many years of jail time for criminals, as it should. But, there are many juvenile offenders who took a wrong turn and should get back on the right path. To decrease repeat offenders, there are many tools available already in place that I would leverage, including the partnership of local private organizations that provide a place for youth to go for help. There are some kids who need to be in State custody and there are some kids who need help and can be rehabilitated in a different manner. Sometimes there is a way in which we can help families steer their child in the right direction if that is the appropriate decision.
Regarding appointment of attorneys, I would select attorneys based upon their ability to adequately represent an indigent child (as this is a juvenile court). I would select attorneys in a manner independent of party affiliation and avoiding any conduct that calls the integrity of the court into question. In selecting an attorney to represent a child, I would look for opportunities to create a mentor for the accused.
If elected, I am committed to decreasing repeat offenders and ensuring fair representation in the 313th District Court. The integrity of the system must be clearly visible. The Juvenile Courts offer an opportunity to mentor and direct the life of a child and the 313th District Court demands a judge who recognizes this responsibility. I want to be that judge.
I ask for your vote in the March 2 Republican Primary and appreciate your support.
Thank you, Fred Wilson
